our home

we were very fortunate to find our home when we did. everything about the buying process screamed it was meant to be. when we moved in, everything had been updated, so even though it was 20 years old, the house seemed brand new. we are now currently changing things to fit our tastes and we're having a blast! it's such a good feeling to know that you can call a house your home, and fix it up to your needs and preferences.

all of our rooms are still a work in progress but even when i'm 'done', there's always something i'm changing.
we are currently in the process of painting all of our woodwork white, i love the crispness of white woodwork. don't get me wrong there's nothing better than nice woodwork, but for me, i prefer a dark wood and ours now are a lighter wood. painting has been interesting and i've definitely learned a lot about different kinds of brushes, what paint type to use for what project, and colors.

for our bedroom we have gone with a medium grey {behr :: elephant skin} with white, taupe, dusty rose and slate blue accents. i. am. in. love. i wasn't quite sure about the combination when we started  but now if feels very warm and cozy. exactly what you want for a bedroom right? i love mixing patterns and styles to create my own version of newer styles. i try to steer away from super trendy (whats super trendy now, we all know will not be super trendy later) always going with a classic look is never a bad idea!

you'll have to wait until i complete more of this room to see the finished product!! i've worked really hard on this room so i am excited to finally be done and show it off!!
